This course is an essential for hunters, hikers, campers, Scout Leaders, and everyone who spends time working or enjoying the wilderness or remote locations. This course is designed to help you understand how body systems work, injuries, and what you can do to treat the problems and stabilize the patient when you are far from help. 16 hour class-2 days. Book is included with the cost of the course. You will also receive your AHA CPR certification as part of the course. Your certifications will be valid for 2 years.

The Wilderness First Responder course is designed to teach those that are medical professionals, responders to rural or wilderness environments, and or trip leaders how to protect your clients and communities while working with or within an organized EMS structure. This course teaches the skills necessary to assess, treat and care for patients or clients in the back country setting. Classroom lectures and demonstrations are combined with realistic scenarios where mock patient scenarios will reinforce learning and challenge skills known and learned. Learning takes place both in the classroom and in outdoor settings regardless of weather conditions.
Graduates of this course that possesses a current EMS certification (EMT/ PARAMEDIC) will receive their Wilderness EMT credential upon successful completion of the course. Those that do not possess a current EMS certification will receive a Wilderness First Responder Credential upon successful completion of this course. Our course is registered with NASAR and students will receive AHA CPR & NASAR qualifications.
